At Stride, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share,
and protect your personal information. We comply with GDPR (for EU users) and CCPA (for California
users).
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide (Trainer Accounts)
When you use Stride, you give us:
- Account Information: Email address, password, name (optional), profile picture (optional)
- Organization Information: Business name, address, phone, email, website, logo, timezone
- Payment Information: Processed by Stripe (we don't store your credit card details)
- Communications: Messages you send us, newsletter subscriptions, feedback
Client Data You Collect
As a trainer, you collect and store information about your clients (dog owners) in Stride. This
client data includes:
- Client Information: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, emergency contacts
- Dog Information: Names, breeds, ages, weights, medical information, medications, allergies, behavioral notes, veterinarian information
- Appointment Data: Scheduling, session notes, training progress, check-in times
- Payment Data: Invoice history, payment records, saved payment methods (stored by Stripe)
- Communication Preferences: Email/SMS opt-in status, notification preferences
- Files: Photos, documents, vaccination records you upload
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to collect this information from your clients
and for complying with applicable privacy laws.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use Stride, we automatically collect:
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, interactions
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, IP address
- Cookies: See our Cookie Policy for details
- Analytics: We use Umami Analytics (privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant) to understand how people use Stride
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Store your business data, client information, and training records
- Send appointment notifications to your clients via email and SMS
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Sync appointments with Google Calendar when connected
- Generate invoices and process client payments
- Send service-related emails (account confirmations, trial reminders, billing notifications)
AI-Powered Features
- Generate monthly business retrospectives analyzing your metrics
- Provide business recommendations based on aggregated data
- We use OpenAI's API for these features
- Important: We only send aggregated metrics to OpenAI (appointment counts, revenue figures, completion rates). We do not send client names, contact information, or personal details.
Improve Stride
- Understand how people use the platform
- Fix bugs and technical issues
- Develop new features
- Analyze usage patterns (aggregated, anonymized data only)
Communicate With You
- Respond to your questions and support requests
- Send newsletters (only if you opt in)
- Notify you of important service changes

- Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information
We don't sell your personal information. We only share it in these situations:

Business Transfers

4. SMS Communications
When you enable SMS notifications for your clients, we use Twilio to deliver messages. The following
information is shared with Twilio:
- Client phone numbers
- Message content (appointment details, trainer name, location)
Your clients can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP. They can get help by replying HELP.

5. Google Calendar Integration
When you connect Stride to Google Calendar, the following information syncs to Google:
- Appointment dates, times, and durations
- Appointment titles and descriptions
- Client names and contact information
- Dog names and relevant details
- Location information
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Settings. When disconnected, no new data
is sent to Google, but previously synced events remain in your Google Calendar.
6. Client Data
As a trainer, you collect personal information about your clients through Stride. We process this
data on your behalf to provide the service. Important points:
- You are responsible for your clients' data and for complying with applicable privacy laws
- We do not use your clients' information for Stride marketing
- We do not sell your clients' information
- Client data is only used to provide the services you've enabled (notifications, invoicing, etc.)
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
Active Accounts
- We keep your data as long as your account is active
- You can export or delete your data at any time
Inactive Accounts
- If your trial expires or subscription ends, your account enters a 90-day grace period
- During this period, you have read-only access and can export your data
- After 90 days, all your data is permanently deleted
Deleted Accounts
- If you delete your account, we immediately delete all your personal data
- Some data may remain in backups for up to 30 days, then it's permanently erased
- We may keep anonymized usage statistics
Legal Requirements
- We may retain certain data if required by law (e.g., tax records)
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access and Portability
- View all your data at any time through your account
- Export your data in a portable format (CSV or Excel, available in Settings)
Correction
- Update or correct your information through your account settings
Deletion
- Delete your account and all associated data (Settings > Delete Account)
- Your data will be permanently removed
Objection and Restriction
- Object to certain data processing activities
- Request restricted processing of your data
Withdraw Consent
- Unsubscribe from newsletters at any time
- Disconnect third-party integrations (Google Calendar)
- Change cookie preferences (see Cookie Policy)
- Close your account to stop all data processing
Complaint
- If you're in the EU, you can file a complaint with your local data protection authority
- If you're in California, you can file a complaint with the California Attorney General

10. Data Security
We protect your data using:

- PCI Compliance: Payment data handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant)
However, no system is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect
your information.
11. International Data Transfers
Stride is hosted in the United States. If you're outside the US, your data may be transferred to
and stored in the US.
For EU Users: We comply with GDPR. Our service providers use Standard Contractual
Clauses and other safeguards approved by the European Commission.
12. Children's Privacy
Stride is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children
under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please
contact us and we'll delete it.
13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have additional rights:
- Know: What personal information we collect and how we use it
- Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt-Out: We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of
- Non-Discrimination: We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights

If you're in the European Union, you have rights under GDPR:

- Contract: To provide the Stride service

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify
you by email or through the service. The "Last Updated" date shows when the policy was last revised.
