Terms of Service

Welcome to Stride! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our dog training business management platform. By using Stride, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Stride

Stride is a business management platform for professional dog trainers. Stride helps trainers:

  • Schedule and manage appointments with clients
  • Track client and dog information
  • Send appointment reminders via email and SMS
  • Create and send invoices
  • Accept credit card payments from clients
  • Log training sessions and track progress
  • Sync appointments with Google Calendar
  • Receive AI-powered business insights and recommendations
  • Export business data

2. Your Account

Account Creation

To use Stride, you need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

Organizations

Stride supports both individual trainers and multi-trainer businesses. When you create an account, you create or join an organization. Organizations can have multiple team members with different roles:

  • Owner: Full access including billing and account deletion
  • Admin: Can manage team members and all business data
  • Trainer: Can manage clients, appointments, and training data

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Stride. If you're under 18, you should have parental permission.

3. Subscription and Payment

Free Trial

New users receive a 30-day free trial with full access to all features.

Paid Subscription

After your trial ends, Stride costs $39 per month or $390 per year. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay the subscription fee
  • Allow automatic renewal unless you cancel
  • Accept that prices may change with 30 days notice

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. After cancellation:

  • You'll continue to have access until the end of your billing period
  • Your account will enter a 90-day grace period with read-only access
  • You can export your data during this grace period
  • After 90 days, your data will be permanently deleted

Refunds

We don't offer refunds for partial months. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period. See our Refund Policy for details.

4. Client Data and Your Responsibilities

Your Client Data

When you use Stride, you collect and store information about your clients (dog owners) and their dogs. This includes names, contact information, addresses, dog details, appointment history, and payment information. You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the right to collect and store your clients' information
  • Complying with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction
  • Keeping your clients' information accurate and up to date
  • Responding to your clients' requests regarding their data

SMS Consent Requirement

Before enabling SMS notifications for a client, you must confirm that the client has agreed to receive text messages. When you add a client's phone number for SMS, you will be asked to confirm that you have obtained consent. By checking this confirmation, you certify that:

  • The client has verbally or in writing agreed to receive SMS appointment notifications
  • You have informed the client about the types of messages they will receive
  • You have informed the client how to opt out (reply STOP)

5. SMS Notifications

Stride can send SMS notifications to your clients for appointment confirmations and reminders. These messages are sent through our SMS provider (Twilio). By using SMS features, you agree that:

  • You will only enable SMS for clients who have consented
  • Messages sent are transactional only (no marketing)
  • Clients can opt out at any time by replying STOP
  • Clients can get help by replying HELP
  • Standard message and data rates may apply to recipients

6. Payment Processing

Accepting Client Payments

Stride allows you to accept credit card payments from your clients through Stripe Connect. To use this feature, you must connect a Stripe account. By using payment processing, you agree to:

  • Stripe's Connected Account Agreement
  • Provide accurate business information to Stripe
  • Be responsible for disputes and refunds with your clients

Processing Fees

Stripe charges processing fees (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction). You can choose to absorb these fees or pass them on to your clients. Stride does not charge additional fees on client payments.

Saved Payment Methods

With client consent, you can save payment methods for future charges. Saved card information is stored securely by Stripe, not by Stride.

7. Third-Party Integrations

Google Calendar

You can connect Stride to your Google Calendar to sync appointments. When connected, appointment details (including client names, dog names, and appointment information) are shared with Google. You can disconnect this integration at any time from your settings. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Other Integrations

We may add additional integrations in the future. Each integration will clearly explain what data is shared and can be connected or disconnected from your settings.

8. Your Content

Ownership

You own all the data you enter into Stride, including client information, dog profiles, training notes, session logs, and uploaded files. We don't claim ownership of your content.

License to Us

By using Stride, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content to provide the service (like generating AI recommendations based on your training data, sending notifications to your clients, and syncing with connected services).

Data Export

You can export all your data at any time from your account settings. Exports include clients, dogs, appointments, invoices, payments, and session notes in CSV or Excel format.

9. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use Stride only for lawful purposes
  • Not share your account credentials with others
  • Not attempt to harm, hack, or disrupt the service
  • Not upload malicious content or spam
  • Not scrape or copy our content without permission
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of Stride and others
  • Comply with applicable laws regarding your clients' data
  • Obtain proper consent before sending SMS to clients

10. Our Rights

Intellectual Property

Stride owns all rights to our platform, including our code, design, branding, and features. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute our software.

Service Changes

We may:

  • Update, modify, or discontinue features
  • Change these Terms with notice to you
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep Stride available 24/7, but we can't guarantee it. We may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We're not liable for any disruptions to the service.

12. Limitation of Liability

Important: Stride is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for:

  • Lost data, profits, or opportunities
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Issues caused by your internet connection or device
  • AI recommendations that don't work for your specific situation
  • Failed SMS or email deliveries
  • Payment processing issues handled by Stripe
  • Third-party service outages (Google, Stripe, Twilio)

Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Abuse or harm other users
  • Don't pay your subscription fees
  • Send SMS without proper consent

If we terminate your account for violations, you won't receive a refund.

14. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data and your clients' data.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with US law.

If you're in the European Union, you also have rights under EU consumer protection laws and GDPR. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights.

16. Dispute Resolution

If you have a problem, please contact us first at nick@stride.dog. We'll do our best to resolve it.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through the service. Your continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
