This page explains how Stride collects consent before sending SMS messages to clients of dog trainers who use our platform. Stride is committed to responsible messaging practices and compliance with carrier requirements.
Stride is an appointment scheduling and client management platform for professional dog trainers. Trainers use Stride to manage their business, schedule appointments, and communicate with their clients (dog owners) via SMS notifications.
Stride uses a two-step consent process to ensure all SMS recipients have agreed to receive messages:
When a dog trainer adds a client's phone number to Stride to enable SMS notifications, they must confirm that they have obtained consent from the client. The trainer sees a checkbox with the following language:
"I confirm this client has agreed to receive SMS appointment notifications from Stride."
The trainer cannot enable SMS notifications without checking this box. Our Terms of Service require trainers to obtain verbal or written consent from their clients before enabling SMS notifications.
Immediately after a trainer adds a client's phone number, the client receives an introductory SMS message informing them that they will receive appointment notifications. This message includes:
Example introductory message:
"Hi! You've been added to [Trainer Name]'s client list on Stride. You'll receive appointment confirmations and reminders. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
This allows clients to immediately opt out if they were added in error or no longer wish to receive SMS notifications.
Stride only sends transactional messages related to appointments. We do not send marketing or promotional messages. Message types include:
Message frequency depends on your appointment schedule with your trainer. You will only receive messages related to your appointments. Typical frequency is 1-3 messages per appointment (confirmation, reminder, and any changes). We do not send daily messages, marketing content, or promotional offers.
You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a confirmation that you have been unsubscribed and will no longer receive SMS notifications from Stride.
You can also contact your trainer directly to request removal from SMS notifications, or contact Stride support at nick@stride.dog.
Reply HELP to any message to receive assistance information, including:
You can also reach us directly at nick@stride.dog or visit stride.dog.
Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Stride does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge standard SMS rates.
Your phone number and message data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are only used to send appointment-related notifications through Stride.
